Meet our provider who loves caring for people, crafting, and time with family. Cindy Stippich is a certified nurse-midwife in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

Most of the time our doctors and women’s health team spend with patients involves listening and getting to know them, but relationships work both ways. To help you learn more about us, we have been posting a series of provider spotlight articles to help you see the stories behind their smiling faces.

Our January spotlight is on certified nurse-midwife Cindy Stippich, MSN, CNM, APNP. Find out more about this highly experienced women’s health provider with a rich personal life and loads of gratitude below:

1. She fell in love with health care as a candy striper

Inspired by her mother who worked as a nursing assistant, Cindy’s first taste of health care was during her time as a candy striper. She loved volunteering to read and help those in hospitals and nursing homes who needed a kind and gentle hand. With years of further education and training, she worked her way up the ladder from a hospital housekeeper to a nursing assistant in various departments, then became a nurse in obstetrics. She thought it was a far cry from her very first job at Pizza Hut – but she knew there was something even more in store for her. After meeting an inspirational midwife at a perinatal conference, she thought, “Yes! That’s what I want to do.” Soon after, she completed the Nurse-Midwifery Program at Marquette University – all while working full-time and raising 3 kids!

2. Orange juice is her secret fuel to get through the day

Cindy offers a personal touch when caring for women during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Her expertise, education, and kindheartedness are renowned in the community. So how does Cindy keep up her energy and stamina? She sips on orange juice! She makes sure there’s always a stash waiting for her in the refrigerator whenever she needs a boost.

3. Her birthday is her favorite holiday

Cindy believes that birthdays are important to celebrate. “It’s a day when you can let go of your worries, and spend time with family and friends doing what you love.” On Cindy’s day, you may catch her playing with her grandkids and enjoying a relaxing PBS episode of Inspector Lewis with her husband. “We love how the mysteries always keep you guessing!” If you happen to have an appointment with Cindy on March 20, wish her a very Happy Birthday!

4. Her grandkids keep her on her toes

From jumping on the trampoline in the summertime to playing hide-and-go-seek on her country property in the wintertime, enjoying child-like wonder alongside her grandchildren brings her great joy. Their little hands even like to assist her in sewing pillows, blankets, and over-the-bed organizers in their favorite patterns. But keeping a close eye on them is key – or they might accidentally call 911 and inadvertently invite a visit from the Dodge County Sheriff! (Yes, that is a true story.)

5. She is grateful for her home at Beaver Dam Women's Health

Cindy is not only grateful for her family, she also feels blessed to have found a home at Beaver Dam Women’s Health. Having been with the clinic for over 20 years, she often finds herself reflecting on the opportunities that have shaped the life she leads today.

“I’m very fortunate to work with Mary and Ken Ostermann [owners of Beaver Dam Women’s Health]. Many blessings have come my way because of them, and I am grateful for every experience I have here.”

6. Her sense of pride is a marker of her success

Cindy defines her success, and the success of the clinic, by the pride she feels at the end of the day.

“I go home and I feel like I provided compassionate and high-quality care to the women in this community who visit our office. Our whole staff is passionate about what we do, and I’m proud to be a part of such a wonderful group of people.”
